DC B’pora emphasizes empowering future leaders, Channelizing potential to foster Entrepreneurship, job creation

Bandipora: In order to promote entrepreneurship, disseminate essential information at the grassroots level, and to generate job opportunities within the district, the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri on Saturday inaugurated the Panchayat-Level Awareness Campaign- Udhyam Jagriti at the Auditorium Hall of Government degree College Sumbal.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the event as a significant step towards channelizing the potential of youth, empowering them to become job providers rather than mere job seekers.
He emphasized the vital role of education in unearthing the hidden talent of youth, stressing that through education, young individuals discover their true potential.
Qadri highlighted the importance of creating new enterprises while extending a helping hand to existing ones, which will ultimately generate new job opportunities and promote economic growth.
“It’s high time we turn around and stop waiting for job opportunities and start looking for ways to create our own enterprises,” he said.
He also pointed out the necessity of guiding students according to their interests and aptitudes to better align their careers with their passions and to help them match their careers with what they love doing.
While addressing the gathering, Principal Government Degree College Sumbal Dr. Shabeena Iqbal Shawl expressed gratitude to the students and participants for attending the event despite the chilling winter conditions. She acknowledged the growing number of entrepreneurs encourage the youth not to limit themselves to government jobs but to explore the numerous opportunities available.
During the event, BDO Nowgam, Dawar Habib extensively elaborated the key features of “Mission YUVA”, particularly its focus on fostering entrepreneurship.
He spoke at length on the core characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, which include risk-taking abilities, creativity, and unique business ideas.
He also delved into essential elements like business models, the ease of doing business, and how initiatives such as “Start-up India” provide a conducive environment for budding entrepreneurs.
Later, a short video presentation featuring the stories of successful entrepreneurs and a more detailed video on “Mission YUVA” outlining the initiative’s goals, strategies, and resources available to young entrepreneurs was presented before the participants.
On the occasion, Employment Officer Bandipora delved deep into the challenges entrepreneurs face and the IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) initiative designed to address these issues. He spoke extensively about the benefits of nano enterprises, which play a significant role in the economy by fostering innovation at the grassroot level.
Nodal Officer, JKEDI, said that “Mission YUVA” is a comprehensive initiative, blending various activities under a single mission to support entrepreneurship.
She focused on nano enterprises and differentiated between micro, small, and medium enterprises, explaining the unique needs and characteristics of each.
“The aim is to identify the critical intervention areas and provide such targeted support to these enterprises.” she said.
She said that the initiative aims to prefer first-generation entrepreneurs, women, and low-income groups, highlighting the program’s commitment to inclusive growth.
At the end, Employment Officer Bandipora presented the vote of thanks to the participants and expressed sincere gratitude for the invaluable support and guidance that contributed to the success of the event.
Among others the event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zaffar Husson Shawl, SDM Sumbal, Murtaza Ahmad; GM DIC, ALC Bandipora, faculty members and a large gathering of Students.
