Srinagar: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, chaired a high-level security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir in the national capital today.

The meeting witnessed the participation of key officials, including Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Shri Manoj Sinha, the Union Home Secretary, the Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), the Chief of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the Chief of Army Staff, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (Northern Command), DGMO, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu & Kashmir, and heads of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).

In his address, as per the details collected by the news agency JKNS Shah reiterated the government’s commitment to achieving a “Terror Free Jammu and Kashmir”at the earliest, aligning with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Zero Tolerance Policy against terrorism.

“With the joint efforts of all security forces, we are determined to establish complete dominance over terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir,” he asserted.

Highlighting the positive strides in the region, the Union Home Minister praised the unprecedented public participation in the recent Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, citing it as evidence of the people’s faith in India’s democracy.

Shah also commended the efforts of security agencies for reducing terrorist incidents, infiltration attempts, and youth recruitment into terrorist organizations. He stressed that the Modi Government’s sustained and coordinated strategies have dismantled the eco-system of terrorism in the region.

Looking ahead, the Home Minister directed security agencies to maintain their coordinated efforts, stressing the importance of implementing the “Area Domination Plan” and “Zero Terror Plan” in a mission-mode approach to ensure lasting peace. This high-level meeting underscores the government’s resolve to combat terrorism and bring stability to Jammu and Kashmir.—(JKNS)
