New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday lodged an FIR with Delhi Police against Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of physically assaulting two BJP MPs during a clash in the Parliament premises over Home Minister Amit Shah remarks on Dr Ambedkar.

Following the incident, a BJP delegation, including members of its legal team and MPs Anurag Thakur and Bansuri Swaraj, visited the Parliament Street police station to file a formal complaint of “attempt to murder” against Gandhi.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur said that a complaint has been filed against the Congress MP for assault and incitement.

“We have mentioned in detail the incident that happened today outside Makar Dwar, where NDA MPs were protesting peacefully,” he said.

The BJP accused the Leader of Opposition (LoP) of physically attacking their members during the fracas.

Earlier today, Chaos erupted outside Parliament as BJP MPs staged a protest, demanding accountability.

Meanwhile, Gandhi refuted the allegations, claiming that it was Sarangi who pushed him while he was attempting to enter the Parliament building.
