Jammu: Continuing its actions against drug peddlers, police have arrested drug peddlers with contraband of poppy straw in the Nagrota area here in the city outskirts.
Police said that during nakka checking on Tuesday evening at Balleni Pull, police intercepted one vehicle, which was on its way from Udhampur towards Jammu.
During checking, police recovered 8-kg of poppy straw following which the driver identified as Imtiaz Ahmed of Nandni Suketar, Jammu, and co-driver Mohammad Danish of Saryal Choha, Majalta, Udhampur were taken into custody.
A case under relevant sections was registered and an investigation started.
