Srinagar: Srinagar’s Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) has become operational, with e-challans set to be issued to violators starting tomorrow.

The initiative intends to enhance road safety and ensure better compliance with traffic laws through technological intervention.

The Srinagar traffic police, in a tweet on X, as per the news agency JKNS said traffic officials are advising all drivers to adhere to traffic regulations to avoid penalties under the new system.

The ITMS system, implemented by the traffic police, is designed to reduce the need for manual law enforcement and improve efficiency using technology.

“INTELLIGENT TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (ITMS) E-Challans will be initiated against traffic violators in Srinagar through ITMS from tomorrow, as the system is functional now. Drive safely & follow traffic rules,” the tweet reads.—(JKNS)
