Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has successfully foiled bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Qazigund by arresting a bovine smuggler and rescued several bovine animals.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Post Navayuga Tunnel at a checkpoint established at NHW Navayuga Tunnel intercepted one vehicle bearing registration no JK19A-7806 driven by Mohd Yousuf Itoo S/o Khazar Mohd Itoo R/o Nowgam Banihal and during checking recovered 39 Bovines from the said vehicle. Stating that the bovine smuggler was arrested on the spot and the vehicle used in commission of crime was also seized, Police in its statement further said that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Qazigund and besides initiating further investigation into the case.
