Traffic Restricted on Sinthon Top NH-244 to Ensure Winter Safety

Srinagar: The Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Kokernag has issued an order regarding traffic movement towards Sinthon Top on NH-244 (Anantnag-Kishtwar Highway) for the winter months of 2024 and 2025.

“Due to heavy snowfall, frozen and slippery road conditions, there is a high risk of road accidents. To ensure safety, traffic will only be allowed from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM during dry weather conditions, starting from December 12, 2024,” an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency JKNS, reads.

It states that the advisory directs the Station House Officer (SHO) Larnoo/Kokernag and the traffic police to strictly enforce this time frame. Vehicles found violating the advisory will be seized immediately. Authorities are urged to monitor the roads and ensure compliance. This order will remain in effect until further notice.—(JKNS)
