Jammu: In a meeting of the District Advisory Committee under the Pre-Conception & Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya on Tuesday instructed Sub Divisional Magistrates to maintain rigorous surveillance against any potential sex determination activities within their jurisdictions and to conduct monthly surprise inspections of medical facilities, ensuring complete compliance with the PCPNDT Act.
The DC stressed the importance of proactive measures and warned of stringent legal action against violators and emphasised strict monitoring of ultrasound clinics and imaging centers across the district.
The committee, chaired by the DC, also approved registration of 13 ultrasound clinics and imaging centers during the meeting.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Medical Officer, an NGO representative and other committee members.
