Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and also recovered contraband substances from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Post Watergam headed by IC Police Post Watergam under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Aabid Rashid Mir and SHO Police Station Dangiwacha during patrolling at Yedipora Lorihama arrested a drug peddler namely Bilal Ahmad Lone S/o Abdul Rashid Lone R/o Lorihama Rafiabad and during search recovered 80 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus from his possession.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Dangiwacha besides initiating further investigation, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per the law.
