Jammu: An army jawan was killed on Monday in an accidental mine blast along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
During patrolling, the jawan accidentally stepped on mine triggering a blast.
The jawan identified as HawaldarV Subbaiah Varikunta( 39) was killed.
The White Knight Corps however, posted on X, “The GOC #WhiteknightCorps and all ranks pay solemn tribute to the # braveheart Havaldar V Subbaiah Varikunta of RR, who made the supreme sacrifice during an area domination patrol in the general area of #ThanedarTekri, #Poonch following a mine blast.”
“Our deepest condolences to the bereaved family. We stand steadfastly with them in this hour of grief,” it posted.
