Srinagar: Police in Sopore on Thursday attached a property worth lacs, belonging to a terrorist associate, under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act in Sopore area of Baramulla district.

“Police in Sopore have attached a single-storied residential house along with 16 Marlas of land (Survey No. 354) in estate Nowpora Kalan Sopore,” said a Police Spokesperson in a statement issued to news agency JKNS.

“The said property belongs to terrorist associate Mohd Subhan Khan son of Ab Satar Khan resident of Nowpora Kalan, Sopore and was attached under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA). This action is connected to case FIR No. 105/2024 of Police Station Sopore. The attachment was executed in the presence of a duly constituted police team and the Executive Magistrate, ensuring adherence to all legal protocols,” reads the statement.

This measure, the statement reads, marks a significant step in the investigation into unlawful and subversive activities in the area. “It underscores police’s commitment in countering threats to national security and ensuring peace and stability.” (JKNS)
