Govt. Lala Ded Hospital hosts CME on ‘Revisiting the Basics in Preterm Labour’

Srinagar : The Postgraduate Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Government Lala Ded Hospital, Srinagar, organized a one-day continuing medical education (CME) program on ‘Revisiting the Basics in Preterm Labour’ here Saturday.
The event, held at the Auditorium Hall, Lala Ded Hospital was attended by renowned experts in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology including Dr. Masuma Rizvi, HOD, Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Dr.Rizwana Habib, Ex HOD Gynaecology and Obstetrics GMC Srinagar, experts from SKIMS and other health institutions.
The event also saw the presence of ex-senior HODs of the Deptt including Dr. Shahida Mufti, Dr. Farhat Jabeen and Dr. Nighat Firdous, who were honored for their contributions to the field.
The Principal/ Dean Govt Medical College Srinagar, Prof (Dr) Iffat Hassan was the Chief Guest on the occasion which was also attended by M Ashraf Hakak, Administrator; HODs, Faculty members, Medical superintendent Dr. Muzafar Jan, CMOs, RMOs, and other health functionaries.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Iffat Hassan, Principal and Dean, GMC Srinagar, said that Preterm labour is a significant concern in obstetrics, and it is essential to revisit the basics to provide optimal care to our patients. She said, this CME is a testament to our commitment to excellence in healthcare.
Dr. Masuma Rizvi, HOD, Obstetrics and Gynaecology emphasized the importance of revisiting the basics in preterm labour.
Dr. Shahida Mufti, ex-senior faculty member, shared her experiences and insights, saying, “It is heartening to see the department thriving and organizing such informative events. I’m proud to have been a part of this institution.”
The CME featured presentations by several experts, including Dr. Syed Nawaz, HOD OBG, GMC Anantnag; and Dr. Simona Lyn Syngai, HOD OBG, SKIMS Soura.
The event was attended by over 100 participants, including consultants, postgraduate students, and faculty members from various hospitals and institutions.
