Srinagar: The traders and Chambers of Shahar-e-Khass have urged people to support local business in the larger interest of society.
The Shahar-e- Khass Traders and Chambers have voiced their concern regarding the rise of online shopping among customers, claiming that it has affected the local business class.
A statement of the traders said it has impacted the business community.
The traders emphasized that the proliferation of online shopping platforms is severely affecting the business of local traders in the Valley, many of whom are now struggling to keep their businesses afloat.
“The poor traders of the Valley are particularly vulnerable to the negative effects of online shopping, as their businesses have been hit hard by the trend. Many traders have seen a significant decline in sales, with some even facing the prospect of shutting down their businesses entirely,” the statement said.
In light of these challenges, the Traders and Chambers have appealed to the society to support local businesses by refraining from online shopping.
“By making a conscious effort to support local businesses, we can help preserve the vibrant economic landscape of the Valley for generations to come”, the statement said.
