Police attach property worth Rs 1 Crore Under NDPS Act in J&K Kulgam

Srinagar: Police have attached property worth Rs 1 Crore under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Police on Tuesday said, in a key operation, the Police Station Mirbazar attached a two-story residential house with 15 marlas of land underneath belonging to one Mohdammad Ashraf Bhat at Rahipora Khadwine under NDPS Act. The property is valued at Rs 1 crore and has been identified as proceeds of illegal narcotics trade.

“The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner”, police said.

The said drug peddler is presently lodged at Central Jail Kupwara. Pertinently, he is involved in case FIR number 43/2023 of Police Station Qazigund.

This action underscores the commitment of J&K Police to dismantle the drug network and ensure that those involved in such crimes face the full force of the law, they said.
