Qazigund: The Qazigund Trader’s Association held its much-anticipated election at Dak-Banglow Qazigund, where Mohammad Shafi Wani was elected as the new president and Fayaz Ahmad Wani as the General Secretary of the association.

The election saw strong participation from local traders and shopkeepers, marking a significant step toward addressing the concerns and aspirations of the business community in the region. Mohammad Shafi Wani, a well-known figure in the local business landscape, expressed his commitment to enhancing the welfare of traders, focusing on resolving operational challenges, improving market conditions, and creating new opportunities for growth. His leadership aims to bring a positive transformation in the economic dynamics of Qazigund, fostering a collaborative environment for all stakeholders.

Fayaz Ahmad Wani, the newly appointed General Secretary, vowed to strengthen communication among traders, while also working closely with local government authorities to ensure that the needs of the business community are met. He emphasized the importance of advocating for better policies that will support the traders’ interests and contribute to the region’s economic development.

The elections were closely monitored by several prominent figures from the trading community, including Mohammad Yaseen Khan, President of the Kashmir Trader’s & Manufacturers Federation, Rafiq Ahmad Zargar, Executive Member of the Kashmir Trader’s Federation, Reyaz Ahmad Mantu, Chairman of the Shopian Trader’s Federation, Mohammad Iqbal Khan, President of the Trader’s Federation Anantnag, and Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din, Chairman of the Qazigund Trader’s Association, along with other key committee members.

Speaking at the event, Mohammad Yaseen Khan expressed his confidence that the newly elected leadership would work relentlessly for the betterment of the traders in Qazigund. He reiterated the crucial role of Trader’s Associations in addressing the challenges faced by shopkeepers and supporting the overall market welfare.

Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din, Chairman of the Qazigund Trader’s Association, also thanked the local administration and the Kulgam Police for their role in ensuring the smooth and secure conduct of the election process.

The newly elected leadership is expected to take immediate steps to tackle critical issues such as infrastructure improvement, better market access, and the overall enhancement of the business climate in Qazigund. This election is seen as a crucial step toward promoting a vibrant and sustainable business environment for local traders.
