Srinagar: The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has predicted a three-day period of wet weather starting Thursday, with rain and snowfall expected in various areas of Kashmir and a few parts of Jammu.
The forecast suggests potential temporary disruptions in surface transportation due to light snowfall on mountain passes, including Zojila Pass on the Srinagar-Ladakh highway, Razdan Pass, Sadhna Pass in North Kashmir, Sinthan Top in Kishtwar, and the historic Mughal Road.
The MeT office has also issued an advisory for the tourists and travellers to plan their trip accordingly keeping in view the weather conditions during November 14 and 15.
The MeT office said that there is a possibility of light rain and snow over the higher reaches and at many places of Kashmir valley and a few places of Jammu division during November 14 to 15.
Light rain and snow over the higher reaches at scattered places can occur over Jammu and Kashmir on November 16.
The weather is likely to remain dry till November 23, the MeT office said.
The minimum temperature recorded during the intervention night of Tuesday and Wednesday in all the weather stations of Kashmir remained 0 to 6 Celsius above normal while the maximum temperature witnessed a drop and was recorded 0. To 4 degree Celsius below normal in the valley, the MeT office said.
Srinagar, the summer capital, recorded the minimum temperature at 6.3 degree Celsius above normal of 1.3 degree Celsius on Wednesday while the maximum temperature recorded on Tuesday was 1.1 degree Celsius below normal of 15.6 degree Celsius.
