DC Budgam reviews progress of works at Transit Accommodation at Kakanmaran

BUDGAM, NOVEMBER 11: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Akshay Labroo Monday conducted a comprehensive review of the works at Transit Accommodation Project for PM Package/ Migrant employees at Kakanmaran, Budgam.

The project is designed to provide safe housing and accommodation for the PM package, Migrant employees primarily belonging to the minority community and includes the construction of 12 blocks with a total of around 200 flats.

During his visit to the site, the officials briefed the DC on the progress, informing him that 8 out of the 12 blocks are expected to be completed by the end of December and work on the rest 4 towers is going on at an accelerated speed.

Each building is designed to offer modern, well-equipped flats, with specific areas dedicated to back side and front side carpet areas, as well as lobby and stairs, ensuring adequate living space and comfort for the occupants.

The project also includes allied works such as levelling, compound wall construction, security infrastructure, internal roads, approach roads, drainage, and protection works, providing a comprehensive and secure living environment.

The DC emphasised the importance of adhering to the project timeline and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the construction process. He instructed the concerned officials to ensure that work continues without any delays and that the project remains on track for completion.

Reiterating his commitment to fast-tracking developmental works, the DC underscored the commitment of district administration to ensure that all major infrastructural projects spanning across various sectors are completed and dedicated for public use within the strict timeline and without wastage of any resources.

The DC was accompanied by senior officials, including the Superintending Engineer, CPO, Executive Engineers from the Roads & Buildings (R&B), PHE and PDD Department, Budgam.
