POONCH, NOVEMBER 08: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting of Officers of line Departments to review the stock and supply position of essentials and overall winter preparedness in the district.

The DDC took a review of power and water supply scenarios, availability of ration, fuel, LPG, Fire & Emergency Services, Stocks of medicine, Ambulances, 24×7 Control Room to listen to public problems and other essentials, besides measures taken for snow clearance.

Reviewing the status of power supply scenario in the district, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Xen JPDCL to maintain adequate buffer stock of transformers and adequate men and machinery at all sub Divisions for restoration of power supply in case of disruption due to snowfall.

The DC directed the Assistant Director FCS&CA to arrange sufficient stocks of food and LPG in the district to avoid shortage during snow/winter especially in snowbound areas.

The DC also directed for setting up of a special 24×7 Control Room in the district to redress the winter related complaints of the public on a fast track basis.

The DC directed the Chief Medical Officer to ensure availability of sufficient stock of medicine, ambulance services in DH, SDHs, all CHCs and PHCs specially in Snow bound areas besides making proper heating systems in all hospitals in the winter season. During Discussion Healthcare, the DC desired the departments to track pregnancy cases, also CA and Dialysis patients and have proper counseling in advance so that in harsh climate conditions they do not face any difficulty.

He directed Executive Engineer R&B Poonch, Xen PMGSY Poonch/Mendhar, Xen Mughal Road and OC BRO to keep men and machinery ready to maintain all the roads. He said that the dept will ensure the adequate number of Snow clearance machines, men and machinery is kept ready with staff for quick snow clearance in the district.

The DC asked the Assistant Labour Commissioner to make a list of destitute laborers/poor people, homeless living on the streets so that administration can help them by providing blankets or shelters during winter.

The meeting was attended by SSP Poonch, SE PWD Poonch, SDM Mendhar / Surankote, DFO Poonch, CMO, CEO, CAO, CHO, ACP, DSHO, XEN PWD/Jal Shakti/JPDCL/Irrigation/PMGSY, OC GREF, AD FCS&CA, Tehsildar, Haveli/Surankote/Mendhar/Mandi/Balakote/Mankote and others concerned officers and officials.
