SHOPIAN, NOVEMBER 05: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today chaired a meeting at Mini Secretariat here to take a review of the Revenue Department and assess various revenue related matters.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shakoor Ahmad Dar and Tehsildars apprised the chair about the verification of digitized Jamabandis.

It was intimated that verification of digitized Jamabandis has been completed in 141 villages, out of total 237 villages till date in the district.

The verification of scanned documents and vectorised maps are also underway in the district, apprised officers.

The DC impressed upon all officers to pace up the verification process and complete it within set timelines fixed by the department.

He asked for strict monitoring of the verification process by Tehsildars so that any lacunae or mistakes in this vital revenue document be rectified at this stage.

The chair emphasised on the Revenue Officers that the timely delivery of public services must be strictly adhered to.

Besides, DC also sought the identification of large chunks of state land that can be utilised for boosting entrepreneurship in the district and reviewed the projects for which land needs to be earmarked for social upliftment and economic development.
