Srinagar, 27 Oct: The recent announcement regarding a five-day Diwali Pooja holiday from October 29 to November 2, 2024, has led to some confusion among parents and students across the region. It is clarified that this holiday applies exclusively to educational institutions, both government and private, in the Jammu Division only.

The order copy reads, “In accordance with Order No: 331-DSEJ OF 2024A, dated 23-10-2024, it is hereby directed that all educational institutions, both government and private, up to higher secondary levels in the Jammu Division shall observe five (5) days of Pooja holidays from October 29, 2024, to November 2, 2024.”

Schools in the Kashmir Division will not observe this break, as the holiday period is designated specifically for Jammu Division institutions, covering both Summer and Winter Zones up to the Higher Secondary level.

All schools in the Kashmir Division will continue with their regular schedule during this period.
