SHOPIAN, OCTOBER 25: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today reviewed the sanitation measures and assessed the progress of works taken under Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) in a meeting held at DC office complex.

The DC took a comprehensive review of the implementation of initiatives and works under SBM, aimed at improving rural sanitation and cleanliness.

The meeting was informed that the allotment process has been initiated for different works and the same shall be taken up within this month for execution.

The DC also reviewed the funding allocations, timelines and coordination efforts to streamline the mission’s objectives. He emphasized upon the executing agencies to expedite the allotment process and asked ADDC for monitoring the whole process for better results.

He asked the officers to sensitize the people on the importance of segregation of solid and wet waste in their houses for better waste management.

He also called for taking multi- dimensional strategy and pragmatic approach, roping in all stakeholders to provide the people, the facility of collection of household waste materials at their doorsteps.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone, BDOs, AEs and other concerned Officers and officials.
