Srinagar, Oct 23:

 

The student of Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI) has secured the first position in UT-level inter district cycling championship organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports Budgam.

 

The event took place along the scenic route from Holy Mission High School Narbal to Kunzar Park. The championship featured athletes from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir competing in the Under-17 and Under-19 categories for both boys and girls.

 

The event was inaugurated by the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Narbal Abdul Ahad Wani and Principal of Holy Mission High School Narbal Mursaleen, who were the chief guests at the occasion.

 

The international athletes Ghulam Nabi Reshi, an accomplished SKI instructor, and Dr. Mohammad Akbar Khan, a renowned international cyclist were the guests of honour at the occasion

 

Among other dignitaries present were Shakeel-ur-Rahman in-charge activity DYSSO Budgam and Bashir Ahmad Sheikh in-charge activity zone Narbal.

 

Soliha Zahoor of GVEI secured the gold medal in the Under-19 Girls category for showcasing her incredible talent.

 

Chairman GVEI Mohammed Yusuf Wani congratulated Soliha Zahoor for her remarkable achievement and appreciated the teachers and staff for their support and dedication.”Our school is always committed to provide the continuous support to students in pursuing their passions and excelling in both academics and sports,” he said.

 

He said GVEI will always stand by students and offer them every opportunity to succeed, both on and off the field.
