Srinagar, October 17, 2024– The NHM Kashmir Province Association convened a crucial meeting today in Srinagar, presided over by its president, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Parray. The gathering began with congratulatory messages for key leaders, including Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani Sb:Advisor to the Chief Minister,Dr.Farooq Abdullah, President of the National Conference and former Chief Minister, and Mr. Omar Abdullah.

During the meeting, several key demands were raised, focusing on the welfare and stability of NHM workers in the region. These demands included the regularization of contractual employees, the implementation of a transfer policy, and the introduction of equal pay for equal work. Dr.Parray emphasized that addressing these issues is crucial for improving the working conditions of NHM staff.

An employee voiced frustration, stating, “Despite our meetings and repeated demands for regularization,” highlighting the previous government’s inaction on these critical issues. The association further called for a 20% salary hike and immediate implementation of the transfer policy.

Dr. Parray reiterated the long-standing demand for the regularization of NHM employees and the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission, akin to other central schemes like SSA,to alleviate the financial hardships faced by NHM workers. The association urged the government to act swiftly, drawing attention to the ongoing delays in addressing these urgent concerns.
