Khumriyal, Kupwara – Anhad, a prominent non-profit organization, proudly continues its efforts to develop football talent in the Lolab Valley. Building on its earlier success in sponsoring Shabbir Ahmad’s coaching certification last year, Anhad has now sponsored Aejaz Nabi Mir’s training to become a licensed football coach.
Recognizing the transformative power of sports for community development and youth empowerment, Anhad facilitated Aejaz Nabi Mir’s intensive training. He attended the week-long All India Football Federation (AIFF) camp in Punjab in August 2024 and recently earned his AIFF ‘D’ Coaching Certificate.
Dedicated to creating opportunities for marginalized communities, Anhad’s support for Aejaz Nabi Mir aligns with its mission to empower youth and promote inclusive development through sports.
The Anhad Community Centre has approached both government and private schools to offer free football coaching to boys and girls. Although they have not yet secured permission, efforts are ongoing to find alternative locations for regular coaching. Currently, the center operates one coaching group in Wavoora.
While Lolab Valley boasts 30 football clubs, all for boys, opportunities for girls to play or receive training remain limited. Anhad aims to close this gap and offer equal opportunities for both genders.
