RAJOURI, OCTOBER 15: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Rajouri, Raj Kumar Thapa, chaired a high-level review meeting today to assess the progress of water supply schemes being executed in the district under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).

The ADDC reviewed the status of the 298 water supply schemes planned for the district. It was reported that 33 schemes have been completed, while the rest are at various stages of execution.

A detailed component-wise review was conducted, with the ADDC assessing the progress of various infrastructure elements critical to the success of the mission. These included Borewells, Rapid Sand Filtration Plants (RSFP), Dug Wells, Overhead Tanks (OHT), and the laying of pipe networks across different blocks. Each of these components plays a key role in ensuring the uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water to rural and urban households alike.

Executive Engineers from the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department, Rajouri and Nowshera, presented their respective progress reports. They provided updates on the physical and financial status of each scheme and discussed challenges such as topographical difficulties, material shortages, and the need for better coordination between executing agencies. The officials assured the ADDC that efforts were being made to address these bottlenecks and that all resources were being mobilized to expedite the work.

The ADDC stressed the importance of regular monitoring and field inspections to ensure that the work is being executed according to the established standards. He directed the PHE Department to submit weekly progress reports and maintain close coordination with the district administration.
