Srinagar, Oct 13: A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel from the E-127 battalion stationed at District Police Lines (DPL) Handwara has died by suicide on Sunday.
Reliable sources told NVI that the jawan, whose identity has not been disclosed, used his service rifle to take his own life.
“Colleagues found him critically injured and immediately rushed him to District Hospital Handwara,” they said.
“Despite medical efforts, the jawan succumbed to his injuries,” they said while confirming the death.
They also said that post-mortem formalities are currently underway, and the body will be handed over to the family after completion.
Meanwhile police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.—(News Vibes of india)
