Seed processing is of significant importance in overall performance of the seed: Chowdhury Iqbal
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 10: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today visited Seed Processing Plant/Seed Multiplication Farm Padgampora Anantnag.
During his visit, he inspected different sections of the Seed Processing Plant and had interaction with the technical experts and concerned officers of the Processing Plant.
While expressing his views, Director Agriculture reiterated the Department’s commitment to ensuring the availability of quality seed to the farming community well in time. He asked the concerned officers to put in all the efforts to make sure that farmers and other stakeholder’s interests are served by the Department.
Iqbal highlighted the importance of adoption and introduction of real time technologies during the seed processing operations. Seed processing is of significant importance in terms of overall performance of a perticular seed, he added.
Director Agriculture also took stock of the preparations for ensuring the availability and distribution of different varieties of Paddy seed to the farming community of the region. He directed the concerned officers that only the well processed seed (Paddy, vegetable and other agricultural crops) must be made available to the farming community well before the scheduled time.
