Handwara, Sep 24 : Forest Department employees seized a Van carrying illegal timber in North Kashmir’s mawer handwara, however, driver managed to escape from the spot.
Sources said that Forest control room after receiving inputs laid a naka at Teerina mawer”
“An ECO bearing registration number HR10T 3441 loaded with illicit timber was stopped at Teerina crossing. The driver taking advantage of the darkness, managed to escape from the spot,” said an official to API.
He said the vehicle was carrying 23.43 CFt illegal timber that was seized along with the vehicle. The timber was taken to Control Room Langate.
BO control Room langate Najum ul saqib confirmed the seizure of vehicle with illicit timber said they are investigating the matter and trying to find out where from this timber was brought.
