REASI, SEPTEMBER 17: General Observer for AC-58 Reasi and AC-58 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Avi Prasad on Tuesday undertook an official visit to the remote Tehsil and aspirational block of Thakarakote. The significant visit focused on reviewing and assessing the electoral preparedness in anticipation of the forthcoming assembly elections in District Reasi.
Prasad personally oversaw home voting in Thakarakote Panchayat, ensuring that the process adhered to established electoral norms and procedures. The inspection included visits to key polling stations, such as Polling Station No. 92 at Thanpal, Polling Station No. 23 at Panchayat Ghar Thakarakote, and Polling Station No. 26 at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Panassa. At each location, he conducted a detailed examination of the latest voter lists and verified the distribution status of voter slips to ensure timely access for the electorate.
A critical aspect of his visit was the inspection of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) at the polling stations. Mr. Prasad carefully evaluated the basic infrastructure, ensuring that all essential amenities were in place to guarantee a smooth and efficient voting experience for the public.
In addition to overseeing election preparations, the General Observer also visited the Tehsil Office in Thakarakote, located in the village of Panasa, as part of his efforts to ensure a thorough review of the electoral arrangements in the region.
