Poonch,– In a decisive operation, the Poonch Police successfully raided a shop owned by Gagandeep Singh, a resident of Seikloo Mandi, on specific intelligence regarding illegal activities. The raid took place under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy. SP) Headquarters Poonch and was led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Mandi.

The operation commenced late last night when police teams entered the shop around 10:00 PM. Officers discovered a staggering 261 bottles of illicit liquor, highlighting ongoing challenges in combating the underground liquor trade in the region. The presence of such a significant quantity of illegal alcohol not only raises health concerns for consumers but also poses broader social implications.

In addition to the liquor, police seized 380 liters of diesel and kerosene. The unauthorized sale of these fuels raises serious concerns about public safety and environmental risks. The unregulated distribution of these products can lead to hazardous situations for both consumers and the community at large.

Dy. SP Poonch expressed his commitment to maintaining law and order in the area. “The sale of illicit liquor and unauthorized fuel undermines public safety and can contribute to various social issues,” he stated. “We are dedicated to protecting our residents and will continue to take stringent measures against illegal enterprises.”

Following the raid, a case has been registered at Police Station Mandi against Gagandeep Singh under relevant legal provisions. The investigation is ongoing, with police working diligently to trace the sources of the illicit goods and identify any potential accomplices involved in this illegal trade.

Local residents have praised the police’s proactive approach, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in ensuring a safer environment. As authorities ramp up efforts to combat illegal activities, there is renewed hope for improved safety and order in Poonch.
