Instructs for enhanced vigilance in view of approaching Poll Day
SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 15: The Expenditure Observer for district Shopian, Nelapatla Ashok Babu visited various Video Surveillance Teams (VSTs) and Forest Nakas at Gagren, Vedhpora, Hermain, Largam, Memender and Domail villages of the Shopian to inspect the working of their functioning.
The teams are working on ground to keep track of expenditure monitoring of contesting candidates and then report the expenditure to the Expenditure team who then submit it to Expenditure Observer.
The visit was aimed to stress for enhanced vigilance in view of the approaching date of Polling for Assembly elections on 18 September.
Expenditure Observer interacted with officials of Video Surveillance Teams (VST) and Forest Nakas and directed them to strictly adhere to the Election Commission’s guidelines emphasizing the need to curb illegal expenditures and movement of forest produce.
The VST team was asked to check the campaigning activities of all contesting candidates in the area and book the expenditure as per the ground truth, for the conduct of fair and transparent elections.
