SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 10: The Expenditure Observer (EO), Nelapatla Ashok Babu today conducted an extensive tour of various villages including Keller, Zampathri, Berthipora, Turkuwangam and Zainapora where he also visited several Static Surveillance Teams (SST) check points.
The purpose of the visit was to review the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) guidelines ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
The EO was apprised of the working of SST especially on strict implementation of MCC. Staff gave brief on the removal of unauthorized posters, banners and other election-related materials from public properties.
He also interacted with officers manning the checkpoints to monitor any potential violation of expenditure-related norms, stressing the need for vigilance in preventing the transfer and use of illegal cash, drugs, liquor and other bribery items during the election period.
