KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 10: The District Election Officer (DEO) Kupwara on Tuesday convened a meeting of concerned Officers at the Mini- Meeting Hall of DC office, here to evaluate the welfare provisions for polling staff during the upcoming general Assembly Elections- 2024.
During the meeting, the DEO assessed the preparations regarding key elements of polling staff welfare provisions.
The DEO directed the concerned officers to constitute Polling station wise teams of Lumberdars, Chowkidars, Panchayat Secretaries, ASHAs and AWWs, who will arrange food and other necessary logistics to poll parties and security personnel.
She said that the concerned BDOs will ensure minimum hygienic food to Polling parties including CRPF personnel and constitute a team of officers including concerned BDO, CDPO, Food officer, who will monitor providing of hygienic food and other basic minimum facilities to poll parties.
The DEO directed the concerned officers for nomination of a Block Welfare Officer at block level and sharing of his contact numbers with ROs, Presiding Officers and Sector Magistrates.
Dy.DEO was directed to visit election training centers and inspect the quality of the refreshments being provided to the employees.
Ayushi emphasized the importance of robust welfare preparations for poll staff to facilitate a smooth electoral process.
Meeting was attended by Nodal Officer Welfare, ACD Kupwara, Dy.DEO, BDOs and other concerned.
