SASHAKT SENA – SAMRIDDH BHARAT EXHIBITION COMMENCES IN RANCHI

The Indian Army’s Sashakt Sena Samriddh Bharat Exhibition kicked off today at Morabadi Ground in Ranchi, Jharkhand, with great enthusiasm. The three-day event, running from September 6-8, 2024, was inaugurated by Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand, Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, in the presence of Hon’ble Raksha Rajya Mantri, Shri Sanjay Seth.

Thousands of attendees, including students, NCC cadets, and citizens from across Jharkhand, showed their strong support for the Armed Forces during the inauguration ceremony. In his address, the Hon’ble Governor praised the Armed Forces for their selfless service and dedication to the nation, describing them as a beacon of courage and discipline, especially for the youth.

The Hon’ble Raksha Rajya Mantri expressed gratitude to the Indian Armed Forces for the sacrifices made by soldiers and their families. Lieutenant General RC Tiwari, Army Commander, Eastern Command, presented mementos to the dignitaries. Thereafter, the dignitaries toured various exhibits, acknowledging the remarkable efforts of Armed Forces in organising the Sashakt Sena – Samriddh Bharat Exhibition at Ranchi.

The exhibition is aimed at strengthening bond between civil society and the Armed Forces. It showcased new generation advanced weapons such as Sig Sauer, AK 203 Rifles, Negev Light Machine Guns, Infantry Mortars, Anti-Tank Guided Missiles and Loiter Munition System. Long Range Artillery Guns like Bofors and Ultra-Light Howitzer, Anti-Aircraft Guns and Air Defence Radars were also on display. Audience had the opportunity to see extremely capable modern military vehicles which included All-Terrain Vehicle, High Mobility Reconnaissance Vehicle, Specialist Mobility Vehicle and Rough Terrain Logistic Vehicle. Various combat simulations by Infantry troops mesmerised the audience. A wide array of military drones with capabilities ranging from surveillance to logistics displayed indigenous technological prowess and self-reliance.

To give hands on experience of military activities and equipment, special enclosures were made, which included surveillance room equipped with night vision devices and weapons training simulators. Opportunity was provided to selected students to take Hot Air Balloon rides and witness static display of aircrafts. Display of adventure activities of Microlight Aircraft Flypast showering petals on the spectators and breathtaking stunts by Daredevils Army Motorcycle Team, enthralled them. Flypast by the Helicopters was followed by Indian Air Force Hawk Jets, which left the spectators awe inspired. Military Bands added ceremonial flair with martial tunes, as the audience enjoyed martial arts and cultural performances.

The exhibition also included displays highlighting the rich heritage and history of the Indian Army and wars fought by our Armed Forces. Contributions of the Indian Armed Forces in the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations as well as the United Nations Peace Keeping Missions were also exhibited. Informative stalls were also established by the Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy to provide guidance on career opportunities in the Armed Forces.

The Sashakt Sena – Samriddh Bharat Exhibition is a testament to the Indian Army’s commitment to engaging with the citizens of the country and showcasing its capabilities. The Indian Army extends its gratitude to the people of Jharkhand for their overwhelming support and enthusiasm. The event has successfully fostered a sense of pride and patriotism among the attendees, and the Indian Army looks forward to continuing its efforts in strengthening the bond between the Armed Forces and civil society.
