Kupwara, Sep 2, On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Mohammad Rouf Rehman today chaired a meeting of District Task Force constituted for the Implementation of The Child Labour Prohibition and Regulation rules 1998 amended in 2017.

Additional Deputy Commissioner outlined the roles and responsibilities of the members of the District Task Force, stressing further that it was the Task Force’s key function to ensure that provisions of the Act were being followed in the district.
ADC emphasised that the Task Force has to conduct inspections of all the schools of the district.
He called upon collective team work of every Task Force member as to rid the district of any child labour instances and also asked concerned departments for sensitising the public during their programmes.

ADC stressed for Awareness Campaigns by concerned departments aimed at Planning and evaluating the effectiveness of awareness campaigns aimed at educating the public about the dangers and illegality of child labour.

While emphasising for effective Monitoring and Reporting Mechanisms, ADC directed the concerned line departments to Strengthen the monitoring mechanisms to ensure timely reporting and action on child labour cases.

Meeting was attended by CEO Kupwara AlC kupwara and other officer of concerned line departments.
