RAMNAGAR, AUGUST 31: In a significant demonstration of civic engagement, a colossal voter awareness rally was held today in Ramnagar, drawing participation from all sections of society. Approximately 6000 people from across diverse sections of society including religious leaders, civil society members, women, labourers, persons with Disability, employees, new voters and future voters joined the awareness event.
The rally was flagged off by Sub Divisional Magistrate Rafiq Ahmad Jaral from the SDM office under the auspices of the SVEEP aimed to encourage maximum voter participation in upcoming elections on October 1, 2024.
The event was held under the guidance of District Election Officer Saloni Rai as part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation initiative.
The presence of community leaders including Padris, Molvis and Pandits, symbolized the unity and commitment of all religious groups to the democratic process. The enthusiastic new voters expressed their excitement about casting their first votes, while the senior citizens showcased their enduring dedication to democracy. The presence of specially-abled voters, accompanied by wheelchairs, underscored the inclusivity of the upcoming elections.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere were students, laborers, street vendors, and women electors, all carrying banners, flags, and tools to signify their active participation in the upcoming elections. The rally was further energized by the presence of drummers and pipers, creating an electric ambiance as it moved through the streets of Ramnagar.
The rally made its way through key locations, including Gupta Chowk and the Bus Stand, before culminating at the Girl High School Ramnagar. At the bus stand, a short but impactful speech was delivered by the SDM Ramnagar, who also serves as the Returning Officer of AC 62 Ramnagar. The Rally culminated at Govt Girls High school Ramnagar, where a cultural events were demonstrated by the Girl students who are excited to cast their maiden votes.
The SVEEP program was concluded with impressive and motivational speech, by SDM Ramnagar, who highlighted the significance of exercising voting rights, emphasizing the crucial role of every section of society in the democratic process. His words inspired the crowd, reinforcing the importance of each vote in shaping the future of the nation. The event left an indelible mark on the citizens of Ramnagar, inspiring them to actively participate in the Festival of Democracy on October 1, 2024.
