KATHUA, AUGUST 29: As part of the ongoing efforts to bolster voter awareness and participation, multiple activities were successfully organized in the Kathua (SC)-67 Assembly Constituency under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative.
These events, led by officers and community members, aimed to ensure that every eligible voter is informed, engaged, and motivated to participate in the upcoming elections.
A notable poster-making activity was held under the guidance of AC Nodal Officer Kathua (SC)-67. Jatinder Sethi with his active team members namely Meenu Kalotra, Jyoti Jasrotia, and Aashia Choudhary, this event was a vital step in visually conveying crucial information about the electoral process.
Participants created impactful posters that highlighted key voting aspects, such as registration procedures, polling dates, and the significance of every vote. These posters serve as an effective medium to educate and encourage voter participation within the community.
Continuing the momentum, a major SVEEP event took place at Government Higher Secondary School Boys Kathua.
The event commenced with a heartfelt tribute to Major Dhyan Chand in celebration of National Sports Day 2024, honoring the birth anniversary of the legendary Indian hockey player. This tribute underscored the district’s commitment to national pride and civic duty, setting a meaningful tone for the activities that followed.
Students played a central role in the event, delivering impassioned speeches on the importance of inclusive voting practices. Their messages emphasized the necessity of broad voter participation in the upcoming elections, particularly encouraging marginalized groups, the elderly, and women to exercise their democratic rights.
Adding a creative dimension, students performed a skit that vividly depicted various aspects of voter engagement, stressing the importance of informed voting. The performance highlighted that every vote counts and that informed participation is essential in shaping the future of the nation.
These SVEEP activities, blending respect for national icons with strong voter education efforts, exemplify Kathua’s dedication to fostering a more inclusive and participatory democratic process.
The events are part of District SVEEP plan meticulously orchestrated by the District Election Office under the supervision of RO-67 Kathua (SC) Vishav Partap Singh (ACR).
