SAMBA, AUGUST 29: An in-depth training session for polling staff was conducted today here under the supervision of the District Election Officer (DEO) Rajesh Sharma. The training session was chaired by Ranjeet Singh, Nodal Officer for Training Management, and facilitated by the District Level Master Trainers (DLMTs).
The training focused on equipping polling staff with essential skills to efficiently operate Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) systems. The DLMTs provided hands-on demonstrations and detailed explanations, ensuring that all participants gained a thorough understanding of both the technical and procedural aspects necessary for conducting a seamless election process.
In addition to practical training, the session covered the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set forth by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The importance of strict adherence to these protocols was emphasized to guarantee transparency, efficiency, and integrity throughout the electoral process. The training underscored the critical role of polling staff in upholding the democratic process and ensuring fair and free elections.
