KULGAM, AUGUST 29: The District Election Officer (DEO) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan Thursday chaired a comprehensive meeting with Returning Officers and Nodal Officers to review the district’s preparedness for the General Elections to Legislative Assembly-2024.
The review aimed to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place for a smooth election process across all three Assembly Constituencies in the district.
Various aspects were discussed, including the readiness of polling stations, the availability of election materials, the training of polling staff, and the status of Flying Squad Teams and Static Surveillance Teams. Updates were presented on the functioning of the Control Room, adherence to the Model Code of Conduct, Expenditure Monitoring and the issuance of necessary permissions.
The DEO emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of transparency and efficiency throughout the election process.
He impressed the officers to work with dedication to uphold democratic values and provide a seamless voting experience for the electorate.
Kulgam district comprises three Assembly Constituencies and shall go to polls in the first phase on September 18, 2024.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Bashir Ahmad Wani, ADC Viqar Ahmad Giri, all three Returning Officers, the Deputy DEO, and other Nodal Officers.
