SRINAGAR AUGUST 27: With an aim to spread voter awareness, promote electoral literacy and maximize electoral participation in upcoming General Elections to Legislative Assembly-2024, a mega Voter Awareness programme under SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) was held at Nehru Park in Dal Lake here today.
The Voter Awareness programme as organized by Returning Officer, 24-Zadibal Assembly Constituency, Dr. Khalid Hussain Malik aimed to educate citizens about the importance of voting, voter registration processes, and electoral participation.
The event drew a diverse crowd, including local voters, women, students, and teachers, all eager to learn and participate.
During the awareness programme, speakers underscored the vital role of every vote in shaping the future governance. They encouraged attendees not only to cast their votes but also to inspire others in their communities to do the same.
With the Assembly Election in Srinagar District set for September 25, 2024, the message was clear that active participation of all eligible voters is crucial in strengthening democratic setup.
The event also served as an educational platform, particularly for youth on various aspects of the electoral process. The active involvement of these groups highlighted the community’s dedication to strengthening democracy.
Nodal Officer (SVEEP) of 24 Zadibal AC, Aijaz Hussain Malik, District Police represented by Mukhtar Ahmad, SHO Nehru Park; representatives from Chief Education Office, Srinagar and Lakes Conservation and Management Authority, Srinagar also participated in the programme.
