Two dead, one injured as oil tanker plunges into deep gorge near Kupwara’s Machil

Kupwara, Aug 25 : At least two people died, and another was injured after an oil tanker skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Machil, in North Kashmir’s Kupwara on Saturday late night, officials said.

An official told that an oil tanker bearing registration number JK02DG 9805, en route from Kupwara, skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Machil.

He added that two people died in the incident, while another was injured. They were later identified as Jasbir Singh, son of Gareeb Singh, a resident of Balshama Sunderbani Rajouri, and Unkush Choudary, son of Paramjit, a resident of Nowshara. The injured person was identified as Anu Sharma, son of Sunath Lal Sharma, a resident of Sunderbani District Rajouri.

Moreover, he added that both the dead bodies have been shifted to SDH Kupwara for medico-legal formalities, while police have begun a probe.(News Vibes of India)
