Says project cost RS 4.8 Crore, no entry fee, people must come and recall the great martyrs

Srinagar, Aug 13 : Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Dr Owais Ahmed Rana Tuesday said that Balidan Stambh a memorial, constructed in the heart of city at Pratap Park in the memory of martyrs who have laid their lives for the nation, is ready and will be thrown open for the general public on August 15.

Talking to reporters here, the SMC Commissioner said: “We had committed to keep the Balidan Stambh ready by August 15. Its ready now and I urge the people of Kashmir to come here and pay tributes to the great martyrs. So far there is plan to impose entry fee.

People can see the construction and also recall the martyrs,” he said adding that the total cost of the project was Rs 4.8 Crore.

He said that SMC will ensure adequate facilities including water supply etc on the occasion of August 15—(KNC)
