Srinagar, Aug 03: The Legal Metrology Department (LMD) has sealed two petrol pumps in Ganderbal district for dispensing less fuel than paid for.
Acting on a tip-off, the LMD conducted a surprise raid and discovered that the petrol pumps in Wussan Kangan were using malfunctioning nozzles, leading to fuel shortages for customers.
Despite previous warnings and fines, the petrol pumps continued their malpractices, prompting the LMD to take immediate action. The pumps, located on the Srinagar-Leh Highway, were sealed on the spot.
Local residents have praised the LMD’s efforts and are calling for stricter measures, including the cancellation of the offending pumps’ licenses, to prevent future incidents.
The community hopes that this decisive action will protect consumers’ hard-earned money and ensure fair practices.
