DODA, AUGUST 03: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Harvinder Singh, inaugurated the Blind Cricket tournament under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan initiative on 3rd to 4th August 2024 at Sports Stadium Doda today.
The event was organized by the District Administration Doda in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department Doda.
The tournament aimed to promote a drug-free lifestyle while encouraging inclusivity and sportsmanship among differently-abled individuals. The initiative saw active participation and created a vibrant atmosphere, spreading the important message of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
The District Administration Doda also initiated the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) campaign for the 2nd Special Summary Revision, aiming to boost voter registration and participation in the upcoming electoral process.
Additionally, the District Administration Doda commence Swachta Pakhwada, a cleanliness drive running from 1st to 15th August 2024, emphasizing the importance of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the community.
Prominent attendees at the event included ASP Doda Shakeel ul Rehman, DSWO Doda Tariq Parvaiz, other officials, and media persons.
Speaking at the inauguration, Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh remarked, “The Blind Cricket tournament under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan underscores our dedication to promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle and fostering a spirit of inclusivity through sports. We are also committed to ensuring active civic participation and maintaining cleanliness in our district.”
