Weather office issues advisory in view of forecast from Feb 29 to Mar 03

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 01: District administration Srinagar issued advisory for Srinagar areas in view of weather advisory.

In view of the inclement weather with forecast of rainfall for brief period & possibility of Flash Floods, Clouds bursts, Mudslides, Landslides from 1st to 5th August and from 6th to 10h August at scattered places by the Indian Meteorological department (IMD)Srinagar Station, the people of the District in general and those residing on the Left and Right Banks of River Jhelum, its tributaries and Nallahs and the upper reaches of Tehsil North and Panthachowk in particular are advised to refrain from venturing in and around these water bodies, the District Administration Srinagar said.

The Tehsildars (Responsible Officers) of Tehsil North and Panthachowk are informed to activate the zonal Committees of upper reaches in case of flashfloods Landslides and cloud bursts, before any untoward happen and monitor the situation regularly till the improvement of weather”, the Administration.

Further, the Tourists, local Shikara Wallas, Sand Miners, and Boat Crossing Points for travel at Dal Lake and River Jhelum and other water bodies shall not attempt to cross before verifying the condition and situation of these water bodies.
