Bandipora: Medical Block Hajin in Collobration with Directorate of Health Services and SKIMS organised a one day awareness cum discussion programme on various aspects of Hepatitis by observing the World Hepatitis Day-2024.

The main function of World Hepatitis Day under the theme” One life One Liver’ was observed at CHC hospital Sumbal which was presided over by Head of Department Community Medicines SKIMS Srinagar and as well as Block Medical Officer Hajin Dr Idrees Ahmad.

The experts and doctors discussed the theme “One Life, One Liver” with healthcare professionals and paramedical staff on World Hepatitis Day to explore the challenges and opportunities in Hepatitis prevention, diagnosis and treatment from the medical aspects, common misconceptions alongwith the measures and ways to prevent the spread of Hepatitis

Speakers on the occasion emphasized on the need of awareness among common masses related to Hepatitis.

They further emphasized that the need of the hour is to prevent contamination of water and the use of untreated water to prevent any Hepatitis outbreak.

Block Medical Officer Hajin while speaking to media informed that 300 tests were conducted during the event as a part of screening for Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C out of those tests none was tested positive for Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C.
