JAMMU, JULY 28: Director Agriculture Jammu, Arvinder Singh Reen, conducted an on-site visit to the Seed Multiplication Farm in Chinore to oversee the sowing process of the paddy crop. The Director inspected the ongoing operations, placing particular emphasis on the efficient use of the Paddy Transplanter 6 Rows Self Propelled, a piece of advanced machinery that significantly mitigates labour dependency.
Director A.S Reen highlighted several key advantages offered by the Paddy Transplanter in enhancing paddy cultivation practices.
The Director said that the Paddy Transplanter significantly enhances cost efficiency by reducing the rising costs of cultivation and labour requirements, addressing the current labour crisis in the sector. He further noted the transplanter’s capability in rapid nursery creation, establishing a mat-type nursery covering 1 acre within just an hour. Its precision in ensuring appropriate plant spacing and line sowing according to recommended agricultural practices contributes to increased productivity and yields.
This advanced machinery, being the first of its kind in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, provides unparalleled efficiency and productivity benefits to farmers.
