DC Budgam inspects progress, says road shall multiply Tourism & livelihood opportunities in Khag are

BUDGAM, JULY 24: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Akshay Labroo today inspected progress of work in the ongoing 10Km Sitharan- Tosamaidan road project.
On the occasion, the DC said that the initiation of work on this much awaited and crucial road project approved under NABARD shall have a multiplier effect on the Tourism potential of Tosamaidan meadows and shall generate numerous added Livelihood opportunities for the locals and youth of Khag- Tosamaidan belt of Beerwah Subdivision.
During inspection, the DC said that protection works, drainage related and allied works have been taken up first at various stretches of this road and that upgradation and macadimazation works shall be subsequently taken up.
He exhorted upon the executing officers and executing agency to ensure that work on the project is carried out at a pace that shall allow for timely completion of the project.
The DC maintained that the project is very important for not only to enhance better connectivity to locals but also for promotion of Tourism and providing livelihood opportunities to locals.
The DC was accompanied by CPO, SDM Beerwah, ExEN R&B Beerwah, Tehsildar Khag and Engineers of R&B Beerwah subdivision.
