RAMBAN, JULY 24: The District Election Office, Ramban, under the leadership of District Election Officer, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, today conducted a one-day orientation program for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) on the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of the Photo Electoral Roll with respect to July 1, 2024, as the qualifying date.
The program aimed to familiarize BLOs with the procedures and guidelines for the revision process, ensuring accurate and comprehensive updates to the electoral roll.
It was informed that special camps at all polling stations have been planned by Chief Electoral Officer J&K, on every Saturday and Sunday henceforth upto August, 04, 2024. During the camps on upcoming Saturdays and Sundays, Supervisors and BLOs shall remain present on the booths along with Farm 6, 7, 8 and other related documents to receive the claims for error free Photo Electoral Rolls.
DEO Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, in his message has emphasized the importance of the revision process in ensuring the integrity of the electoral roll.
He reiterated that BLOs have a crucial role to play in the revision process and preparing error free Electoral Rolls, which is prerequisite for healthy and inclusive democracy.
The program covered topics such as verification of electoral rolls, identification and removal of duplicate entries, and inclusion of eligible voters.
The orientation program was chaired by Dy District Election Officer Ramban, Abdul Jabar, and attended by District Information Officer Ramban Mohammad Ashraf Wani, Election Naib Tehsildar Mohan Lal, Master Trainers and all the BLOs.
