SHOPIAN JULY 16: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Faz lul Haseeb today chaired a meeting of District Level Banker’s Review Committee Meet (DLBRC) at Mini Secretariat, here to review the performance of Banks and other financial institutions under various government initiatives and sponsored schemes of self-employment.

At the outset, DDC reviewed performance of the Banks in implementation of different govt. schemes and took appraisal of achievements of Banks in lending to priority/ non-priority sectors.

The meeting was apprised about credit disbursement under various self-employment schemes including Mumkin, Tejaswini, KCC, NULM, PMFME, etc.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed all the line departments and Banks operating in the district to further improve the credit facilities, and emphasised on the improvement of progress of schemes and flagship programmes of the government.

He asked for removing the bottleneck in the implementation of schemes in vogue and taking required measures to improve the performance and reach of the schemes to cover maximum youth under its ambit.

The DDC directed all sponsoring agencies and Banks to spread awareness among the people about various self- employment schemes and motivate them to avail the benefits of these schemes for generating self- employment opportunities in the district.

The meeting was attended by GM, DIC; AD, Employment; AD Handicrafts and Handloom; Cluster Head, J&K Bank, Branch Heads and representatives of Banks and financial institutions.
